The villas overview
Villas Macaque and Languor have been built side by side and blend effortlessly with their natural surrounds to make the most of their prestigious location on the exquisite Phra Nang Beach in Krabi.
The villas share the beach with only one other, the very exclusive Rayavadee Hotel. You may meet some of the local inhabitants of the peninsula, there are several troupes of mischievous Macaque monkeys and the smaller, shy Languor monkeys after which the villas are named.
With feathery soft white sand and clear and shallow water safe for swimming, Phra Nang is the perfect beach. Cowrie Villas has access to some of the amenities within the resort and its carefully cultivated and protected environment. Rayavadee is rated by Conde Nast as one of the World’s 40 Best Beach Resorts.
Some people come to visit for the day some of the attractions. At the south end of the beach is a cave that legend says is the home of a mythical sea princess goddess. To service this clientele, long-tail boats which have been customised and converted into floating kitchens pull up along the shore, offering a selection of local fruits, drinks and snacks and add to the unique local culture and colour of this wonderful place. For these many reasons, the beach, the limestone karsts which back up the view is a highly sought out destination for day-trippers…staying here is not an option for most.
Thus the days start out quiet – sublime sunrises and an empty beach. They transition from about 10am onwards, with the flow of guests to an environment that hustles and bustles for a while, normally peaking over the lunch hours and then will start to taper off leaving the late afternoon and evening nice and quiet again. When sunset occurs it’s a debate to be in the villa or down on the beach in front, fortunately they are only 10m from one another!
Each of the villas have three bedrooms: one master and two junior suites, making this unique property able to be individually tailored as anything from one to six bedrooms depending on your requirements.
The configuration is perfect for two families travelling together, or several couples.
Located on the front of each property, the impressive Master Suites look out over the manicured lawn and trees in the tropical garden, and onto the beach and ocean beyond. The large limestone karst of Koh Rang Nok juts out of the water directly in front of the villas, providing a spectacular sight.
The rooms have been decorated in a classic modern Thai style using light timber and white fittings, making them feel cool and airy. Large screen televisions and sound systems take care of the entertainment options, including WIFI within the villas. The Master Suites contain a luxurious bathtub and shower.
The Junior Suites are each situated adjoining the private pools and surrounded by tropical gardens. The bedrooms have both fans and air-conditioning, and each have private ensuite bathrooms with a shower.
Each of the villas are made up of four separate small pavilions spread across the estate and allow for numerous spaces both indoors and outdoors to relax and make the most of this stunning location. Whether you are sitting, dining, or just basking in the ocean views, there will always be a perfect spot for you.
A formal dining room, kitchenette and lounge are situated in their own pavilion at the front of each villa compound. Abundant glass on all sides allows natural light in and unobstructed views out over the garden to the beach beyond. The Villa Macaque dining table seats 10 people, while the Villa Languor dining table seats six, and the comfortable sofas in the living room are the perfect spot to spend the evening chatting and making memories with loved ones.
Situated on the roof of the dining pavilion in Villa Languor is a stunning rooftop BBQ area. Find a spot up here, under the shade of one of the large trees and enjoy the privacy while maximizing the amazing panoramic views in all directions, from the cliffs behind to the beach, ocean and islands beyond. Why not organize with the villa staff to purchase some fresh local seafood and cook it here while you watch one of Krabi’s incredible blazing sunsets with a glass of cold wine.
Each villa contains its own private pool for the use of its guests. The pool at Villa Languor has a small swim-up bar from which to sit, enjoy a cold drink and admire the view. This is also another magical spot to watch Krabi’s legendary fiery sunsets.
While the pool at Villa Macaque may be a little smaller, it has an alluring private spa bath at one end. Nestled into the tropical gardens with views to the ocean, it’s cool water is inviting and tempting at any time of the day or night.
